Take the afternoon off to go for an afternoon walk on a koppie or in a kloof near you.

Johannesburg. The Kloofendal and Klipriviersberg reserves are both part of Joburg City Parks and entrance is free. Melville koppies are open to the public every first and third Saturday of the month (see www.jhbcityparks.com).

Pretoria. You can walk for up to 3,2 km next to the Moreleta Spruit in Faerie Glen, in the Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve. The entrance is at Helios Street (www.moreletakloof.co.za).
