Off the beaten track

As a law-abiding taxpayer you’d be foolish not to go camping in one of our fantastic (and cheap) provincial reserves, like CapeNature’s Anysberg in the Little Karoo between Laingsburg and Ladismith, where you can forget about all your worries. You can go horse riding, swim in a dam, hike in the mountains and admire succulents. All of that for only R100 a night for you and your family. Wow!

Or camp in the Eastern Cape’s beautiful Double Mouth Reserve on the Wild Coast: R87 per family of four per night. Outside Cradock the Kommandodrift Nature Reserve asks only R76 per stand per night (four people) next to the dam.

Limpopo’s provincial parks win the prize for value for money, though. You pay R50 for a stand for up to six people in the Nylsvley Nature Reserve! See www.golimpopo.com.
