Look at the stars
Here’s a good excuse to learn more about the night sky: This year is the International Year of Astronomy. Watch the website www.astronomy2009.org.za for all the activities planned for this year.
At the Cape Town Planetarium there is a session every Saturday and Sunday at 1pm to teach you how to interpret the night sky. Entry is R20 for adults and R6 for children.
An introductory astronomy course at the Johannesburg Planetarium, consisting of four two-hour lectures, cost only R160 last year.
Go! says: Stars are everywhere, and watching them from your back yard costs nothing.
