Take the train to the sea for the weekend

Book a tourist-class passage on the Shosholoza Meyl and board the train on Friday evening at 6.20 pm from Park Station, Johannesburg. Next morning when you wake up, the air will immediately feel different and you’ll see dense green bush through the windows.
Catch a taxi to uShaka Marine World and spend the day swimming and snorkelling, before departing again at 5.30 pm. A mere 36 hours after leaving, you’re back in Gauteng – with a tan.
