Beer basics

Did you know that beer is 6 000 years old? Or that one Pieter Visagie was the first European to brew beer in South Africa? A mere six years after Jan van Riebeeck landed here?
Take a tour through SAB’s “World of Beer” in Newtown, Johannesburg. It’s good fun. You “meet” Charles Glass, who comes walking up to you at almost life-size on a series of video screens and in surround sound, and spend time in a corrugated iron bar just like the ones you would have found in Joburg during its founding years.

Cost: R25 per person – this includes two beers afterwards! (Note: Prices accurate in January 2009)
Times: 10am to 6pm (Tuesdays to Saturdays)
