Go to a botanical garden – again and again
We all know by now that SANParks’ Wild Card is good value for money, but also consider membership of the Botanical Society.
For R245 per person (R368 for a couple or family with two children between 6 and 18) you get free entrance to the eight gardens affiliated with the South African Botanical Society: Kirstenbosch in Cape Town, Harold Porter outside Betty’s Bay, Walter Sisulu on the West Rand and the national gardens in Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, Pietermaritzburg and Pretoria. Attending outings and talks is also cheaper for members and you get a subscription to the society’s journal, Veld & Flora.
