Nature’s pleasures
Find a wild peach tree (Kiggelaria africana) and see tiny black worms strip the tree’s leaves in springtime. Then follow the little worms as they cross the lawn and watch them encase themselves on a wall. Wait patiently for a few weeks until the most beautiful butterflies (Acraea horta) emerge from the cocoons and start flying around. It’s a slow pastime, extremely cheap and probably one of the most fulfilling things a family can do together.
