Tips for frozen food

Use the ordinary foil trays with cardboard tops, available at any supermarket. There are big family-sized ones, down to little tubs for a meal for two...

Don’t keep leftovers in the freezer for longer than a month. Rather just eat it at the weekend.

Freeze foods rock-hard before packing into a coolbox or the Engel freezer in the back of your double cab.

Wrap the frozen containers in a few layers of newspaper as soon as you take them out of the freezer. Pack that in a cool box or bag with a few ice bricks, which you might have been clever enough to freeze solid beforehand.

When you get to your holiday destination, switch on the fridge as you arrive, and as soon as it’s cold pack in the containers, or keep in the coolbox or –bag and eat that evening.
