Apricots. Burton’s Farm, 9 km from Citrusdal.
When? Usually the last fortnight of December. Apricots are harvested only two weeks of the year; call to find out when they’re ripe.

Berries. Bon-Af berry farm at Parys. You can go on a farm tour (the have 65 cultivars of berries including frambois, bramble, blueberries and blackberries).
When? November to April
Cost: R30 for the tour, R120 per kilogram of berries to take home. (What you eat while you pick is free.)

Cherries. Klondyke cherry farm, 35 km from Ceres.
When? Last week of November to the end of December.
Cost: R40 per kilogram

Grapes. Iconos farm, 18 km from Upington on the Olifantshoek road.
When? Mid-November to mid-February.
Cost: Changes from season to season.

Strawberries. Tangaroa farm at the Hartebeespoort Dam, 18 km from Broederstroom.
When? Mid-September to mid-December every weekend and holiday, 10.30 am to 4 pm.
Cost: Entry R30 per adult R20 per child; about R4 per kilogram for the strawberries.
