African Mojito
It might be the national drink in Cuba but when the sun sets here in Africa the local version is just as good. Especially if there’s an elephant or other game keeping you company.
You need (for 1 mojito)
• 1 tot white rum
• juice of half a lemon
• a handful (yes, be generous) fresh mint
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• soda water
• Appletiser
• ice cubes
• 1 lemon slice, to garnish
Here’s how
1. Turn and toss. Pour the rum and lemon juice into a whisky glass.
2. Go green… Add all the mint and top with the sugar. Use a fork or a cocktail stirrer to bruise the mint to extract more flavour.
3. Chill, bro! Add ice cubes and fill the glass with half soda water and half Appletiser. Stir once, slide a lemon slice over the rim of the glass and serve. Now that’s stylish!
Go! says: For a non-alcoholic version of this drink, leave out the rum.
