Effortless veggies
This veggie dish from Linnie Verster can easily go a day without being refrigerated.
You’ll need:
• potatoes, cubed
• carrots
• onions
• mushrooms
• green peppers
• red peppers
• green beans
• cabbage, shredded
Here’s how:
1. Pack them up. Put all the veggies in a cooking bag. Season with salt and pepper, a knob of butter and a teaspoon of sugar.
2. Carry on. Close the bag and wrap it in a double layer of heavy-duty tinfoil. Put in your backpack, climb onto your bike or into the car, and set off.
3. On the coals. When you light a fire in the evening, put the bag near the heat, and when there are coals, on the fire. Turn regularly. Delicious!
