Nature does it best
Manufacturers of outdoor clothing have spent much time and money developing fancy synthetic fibres to keep you warm and mop up sweat, but nature’s already beaten them to it.
Take these mohair socks. Made from Angora goat wool, they look after your feet in the same way they look after the goats. They feel soft and silky against your skin; they keep your feet cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s cold; and they absorb sweat, which helps to keep your feet blister-free.
There’s an extra layer of wool on the soles for cushioning.
Price: Varies according to style, but expect to pay about R50 to R65 for a pair of hiking socks
