Yes, a rolled-up jersey or fleece will suffice, but it’s amazing what a difference a proper pillow can make on a long drive or flight. Dr Zee’s travel pillow is great because it’s the size of a regular pillow when open, but scrunches down to about a third of this when packed into the supplied drawstring bag.
What really sold me is the special “memory foam”, which was apparently first developed by NASA for their astronauts to lie on during take-off and landing. It’s firmer than regular foam, and it moulds to the shape of your head, giving you extra comfort and support.
