The LiteBox has true million candle-power, able to illuminate objects more than 1,5 km away.
Why would you need one?
There’s something incredibly enticing about a super-bright torch. Granted, you probably won’t need a beam that can blind a dassie from 1 500 m away, but that’s beside the point. It’s still damn impressive and will make your mates jealous.

I’ve come across some pretty potent spotlights in my line of work, but none as powerful as the Streamlight H.I.D. LiteBox. (H.I.D. stands for “High Intensity Discharge”.)
It has a 35W Xenon bulb, and more importantly, a reflector. How dazzling is the beam? “A true one million candle power,” says the manufacturer.
In real terms (because, let’s be honest here, nobody can really imagine what this many candles will look like) this equates to a beam that will illuminate an object up to 1,6 km away. Impressive!
But?
The “lite” in LiteBox does not refer to its weight. It is heavy at 4,5 kg! But if you want a torch that will be the conversation point of every fireside circle, this is the one.
How much? Take the credit card; you won’t get much change from R6 000!
