LED Lenser H7R Headlamp
Right now you can pop down to your local outdoor store and pick up a perfectly decent headlamp for
R150, so why would you want to spend almost four times that amount on the H7R? Well, it’s incredibly bright (140 lumens), according to the manufacturer, and it’s rechargeable, which means you save on batteries. Crucially, though, as there are no power plugs at the top of the Drakensberg or Kilimanjaro – you can also use three regular AAA batteries. You can also adjust the beam intensity and focus by twiddling a little knob.
Price: R580 (Note: Price accurate in January 2010)

GO! says: A non-rechargeable version, the H7, costs about R425 at Cape Union Mart.

It's a powerfull headlamp, but suffers badly in build quality. My H7R stopped working, led did not go on anymore, took it back, **** it replaced and now its little plastic lamp adjuster broke by itself. It's **** a badly designed plastic adjuster that breaks easily, and the lamp hangs under its own weight, shining on your feet, rendering it pretty much useless. Then had to buy another H7, in a hurry, now this one also stopped working, seems the wire running along the headband does not make contact inside anymore. No light on this one also. My recommendation.STAY AWAY FROM LED LENSER.
