Will rechargeable batteries power my head torch?

Rechargeable batteries deliver about 20% less power than disposables (a 1,5V-rechargeable AA-battery delivers about 1,2V when charged). Some manufacturers promise that you can recharge as many as 600 times. (March 08, p78)

If you are travelling alone, rather take a head torch than a wind-up, because you will struggle to wind up a torch and loosen the wheelnuts. (Jan 07, p88)
