This is, in my opinion, the best over-the-counter kit currently on the market. It’s available in three sizes: hiker (small), camper (medium) and 4x4er (large). What sets it apart is the way the items are packaged in separate ziplock bags. Each is clearly labeled (for example, burns, shock, fractures and sprains), and includes clear instructions. Refill pouches can be bought individually – much more convenient and cost-effective than replacing the whole kit.

Price: From R250 to R490 (Note: Prices accurate in May 2010)
