Cheetahs are not easy to find in the Kruger National Park; their numbers are generally around 200 in the whole park. Knowing that they prefer open areas does make it easier, though. They are usually found in the Open Tree Savanna ecozone in the south-east of the park.
Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge and Satara are probably your best camps for cheetahs. They are also found west of Satara near Orpen, Tamboti and Maroela. Here are the roads we suggest you drive in search of the world's fastest land mammal.
