I love a camp with a river view, especially if the view is not obscured by overgrown vegetation and there are benches from where you scan the banks for crocodiles, hippos and elephants. Many of the main camps in the Kruger National Park have some kind of a view, but not necessarily over a river. Mopani, for instance, looks out over Pioneer Dam and Satara's campsite looks out over an open plain.
Where camps do look out over a river, the views differ considerably. Some camps are high above the rivers, while others are very low and seem almost at eyelevel with the crocs. Some rivers are small and some are massive. Some views are obscured while others are incredibly open.
We love rivers and we love being able to look at them from the comfort of the camp, so here are our five favourite river views from camps.

The cafeteria and restaurant have a large wooden deck right on the river. |

Great river view from the cafeteria and restaurant, plus a walkway with benches along the massive river. |
