If game viewing played no role in decision-making, Letaba would be one of my favourite camps. The surrounding mopaneveld is not ideal for game viewing and one has to work very hard or be lucky to see the Big 5, even if you stay at Letaba for a week or longer. Elephants and buffaloes, however, are very common in the area.
The camp itself, though, is magic! Letaba is located on the bank of the great Letaba River and probably has the best river view of all the camps in the Kruger National Park. There are gigantic trees throughout the camp, providing more than enough shade, attracting many birds, and keeping noise levels to a minimum. There are two swimming pools, one next to the safari tents and one in the day visitors area on the periphery of camp. The camp also has an ATM, a small nursery and a TV room.
To explore Letaba, scroll over the map below to view different areas of the camp. For more information and photos of specific facilities, just click on the respective icon. To explore the road system around camp, follow the game-viewing link on the right.
