When you stay over at Tsendze, don’t expect to find a swimming pool, shop, restaurant, filling station or reception. Those are all at Mopani camp 10km to the north, which is also where you have to check in – an hour before the gates close.
Tsendze is strictly for campers, but that’s what gives this rustic camp its appeal. It really feels wild, with beautiful old leadwood, mopani and apple-leaf trees dotted around the natural bush, separating each of the stands. No day visitors or generators are allowed, which makes it one of the quietest places in the whole of the Kruger National Park to pitch a tent.
The camp's communal ablution blocks and kitchens are beautifully designed and situated among dense vegetation giving Tsendze a real bush feel, and attracting a lot of birds. A highlight of this camp is the outdoor showers where at night you can scrub yourself clean under a canopy of stars!
