The Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Centre is situated between Skukuza camp reception and the shop, and is definitely worth a visit. There is a library with a great selection of books covering the local fauna and flora, history of the park and other African reserves, stories of hunters and explorers… You can either read in the library, or take the book to your bungalow, tent or caravan. Just remember to return it before you leave Skukuza.
In another section there is a display on the history of the Kruger National Park and how it was formed many years ago. In a larger room you will find a selection of wildlife photographs, interesting facts and photos about the destructive 2000 floods, and an impressive display containing the skin of the lion killed by Harry Wolhuther, including the knife he used.
