Civets are some of the most beautiful creatures in the park, but because they are strictly nocturnal and utilise dense areas, they are seldom seen and admired. Their coat patterns are astonishing; they have dark stripes, spots and rosettes on their light fur and have a racoon-like mark on their face. They are normally only seen on guided night drives, but do visit the fences of certain camps.
Civets
...Sometimes visit camp fences, especially those next to riverbeds, such as Maroela camp.
The best chance of seeing a civet is to go on a guided night drive along a river, so camps like Skukuza and Shingwedzi will give you a decent opportunity.
