Apart from crocodiles, monitor lizards, snakes, agamas, chameleons, tortoises and terrapins, there is a great variety of other reptiles in the Kruger National Park, including other lizards, skinks and geckos.
Lizards and skinks are often found on rocks, warming themselves in the sun. Geckos are usually found in camp or picnic site buildings, close to lights, where they ambush insects attracted to the lights.
Stay at these camps:
Mopane
Berg-en-Dal
Pretoriuskop
Tsendze
Top tips:
Look for lizards around the swimming pools in Pretoriuskop and Berg-en-Dal.
Look out for lizards on the rocks throughout Mopani camp.
Look out for geckos at night near any light in all the camps.
