Waterbuck

(Kobus ellipsiprymnus)

lion

Waterbuck are the most water-dependant antelope of all in the park, which means they are found around most dams and rivers of the Kruger National Park. They will run into the water if attacked, and have a reputation for having poor-tasting meat. Most characteristic of this species is the prominent white circle on its backside.
