Soccer fans took to the streets of Cape Town after Friday’s opening match between South Africa and Mexico. Go! was there to be part of the gees.

Kitted out in all available South Africa paraphernalia, soccer fans flooded the streets after the opening match.

Cape Town seemed to be filled with only South African soccer fans as the South African flag and colours were everywhere.

Spirits were high even though Bafana Bafana only managed a 1-1 draw against Mexico.

Soccer fans that couldn’t fit into the overcrowded pubs in Long Street just celebrated in the street

Fans tried to outdo each other with vuvuzelas of all shapes and sizes.

The South African flag was turned into capes, scarves and bandanas to keep out the cold and show the gees.

Vuvuzelas, and in some cases the kuduzela, could be heard late into the night.

Flags and face paint showed soccer fans’ allegiance.
