See the Christmas lights

In Cape Town Adderley Street is lit up every year, but the real place to see the Christmas lights in Cape Town is in the suburb Bothasig, where every third house looks like a cross between a Shell Ultra City and a Bee Gees music video. Marine Drive on the coast in Port Elizabeth is a safer place to watch lights than Happy Valley, and in Durban you can visit Grey Street, now known as Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street.
In Bloemfontein head for the Waterfront, or visit the suburb Pellisier, where the homeowners try to out-do one another.
Around Church Square in Pretoria the streets are also decorated, but Lawley Street in Waterkloof puts Eskom through its paces – take your sunglasses!
