Cheap gadgets
If you go camping only once or twice a year, there's no need to own all the latest hi-tech camping equipment. Much of the most useful stuff you can buy at your local supermarket – things like a square plastic container for cutlery or a small kettle that won’t leave you heartbroken if you accidentally reverse over it. I once prepared for a two-week trip to the Kalahari by doing al my shopping at Pick n Pay in Diepsloot.
