This is how to tackle the granddaddy of South Africa.

Good hiking shoes and socks are essential. Once you’re at the huts, you want to take your boots off, and that’s when a pair of Crocs come in handy.

It’s a stiff climb from Bloubaai (the beach is just visible beyond the nearest bush) to this viewing platform.
